Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how bookings, admin fees, lesson scheduling, instructor allocation, cancellations, and lesson payments work when you book with Cars Driving School.

Important: The website checkout currently collects the one-time £50 admin fee only. It does not collect payment for lesson hours. Lesson fees and package balances are arranged separately with your allocated instructor unless we confirm otherwise in writing.

1. About These Terms

Cars Driving School is referred to in these terms as Cars Driving School, we, us, or our. By booking through our website, by phone, or by email, you agree to these terms.

These terms apply to the booking service, the admin fee, instructor matching, and the arrangement of driving lessons. They should be read together with any booking confirmation or pricing information we send you.

2. Instructors & Lesson Delivery

Cars Driving School matches pupils with a suitable instructor based on area, availability, instructor preference, and lesson type. Lesson delivery is then provided by the allocated instructor.

Where lessons are delivered by a self-employed instructor introduced by Cars Driving School, the tuition arrangement for those lessons is between you and that instructor. Our role includes booking administration, instructor allocation, lesson coordination, and customer support.

3. Admin Fee & What It Covers

The one-time £50 admin fee covers your pupil file setup, instructor matching, booking administration, and lesson scheduling. It is charged once per new booking unless we state otherwise.

  • The admin fee is not a payment for lesson hours.
  • The admin fee is refundable if we are unable to allocate you an instructor.
  • Once an instructor has been allocated and the booking service has been carried out, the admin fee is not refundable.

4. Lesson Pricing & Payment

Lesson prices shown on our website are the current tuition rates for the lesson type or package selected. Unless we expressly confirm otherwise, those lesson fees are paid directly to your allocated instructor.

  • Weekday daytime rates apply Monday to Friday before 5pm.
  • Evening and Saturday lesson rates apply after 5pm on weekdays and during Saturday availability.
  • Package prices shown are based on the lesson type selected and may only apply to the times advertised on the website.

5. Booking Requests & Confirmation

Your selected date, time, instructor preference, and package choice are treated as booking requests until confirmed. We will contact you by phone or email to confirm the lesson arrangement after your booking is received.

If you choose a flexible time option, we will use the best available slot that matches the package and availability rules shown on the website.

6. Cancellations & Non-Attendance

You must give your instructor at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson. If less notice is given, the instructor may charge the full lesson rate or the pro-rated amount from any package.

  • Late cancellations and missed lessons may be charged in full.
  • If your instructor needs to cancel because of illness, breakdown, or emergency, we will try to rearrange as quickly as possible.
  • We are not responsible for losses caused by short-notice changes outside our control.

7. Your Responsibilities

  • You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence appropriate for the lesson type booked.
  • You must provide accurate booking details, including address, postcode, and contact information.
  • You must tell us or your instructor about any medical condition, eyesight issue, or legal restriction that may affect your ability to drive.
  • You must behave safely and respectfully during lessons.

8. Block Packages

Block packages are intended for the lesson type advertised at the time of booking. For example, weekday packages are for weekday daytime lessons unless we confirm a different arrangement in writing.

If you want to switch from a weekday-only package to evening or weekend lessons, additional charges may apply at the current premium lesson rate.

9. Driving Tests

Your instructor may refuse the use of their vehicle for a driving test if they do not believe you have reached a safe test standard. This decision will be made in the interests of safety.

  • Any separate test-day or car-hire charges should be agreed with your instructor in advance.
  • DVSA notice periods still apply to moving or cancelling tests.
  • If a test is affected by matters outside our reasonable control, we cannot guarantee a replacement slot or vehicle at short notice.

10. Breakdown, Damage & Vehicle Issues

Lessons are normally delivered in a dual-controlled, learner-suitable car. If a lesson is interrupted by an unforeseen mechanical issue, the remaining time will normally be rearranged or credited where appropriate.

If a vehicle is damaged during a lesson or test because of the pupil’s actions, the instructor may require reasonable cooperation regarding the incident and any resulting insurance or repair process.

11. Refunds & Complaints

If you have a concern about your lessons, instructor allocation, or booking, please raise it with us as soon as possible so that we have the best chance to resolve it promptly.

  • Admin fee refund requests should be made in writing.
  • Lesson payment disputes should first be raised with the instructor if payment was made directly to them.
  • Where a refund is agreed, it will be processed back to the original payment method where reasonably possible.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Cars Driving School is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or disruption caused by matters outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability in connection with the booking service will, so far as permitted by law, be limited to the amount you paid us directly for that booking.

13. Privacy, Contact & Changes

We use the information you provide to arrange lessons, allocate an instructor, contact you about your booking, and support your lessons. We do not need your full card details stored on the website to process the admin fee. Third-party providers used for secure booking, payment, communication, and address verification may process your information only as needed to deliver those services.

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version published on our website will apply to new bookings from the date shown at the top of this page.
